Aims & scope
Translational Neurodegeneration is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that covers research, therapeutics and education for all aspects of neurodegenerative diseases. By offering a high-visibility forum for new insights and discussions, Translational Neurodegeneration creates a novel interface between the fields of basic, translational, and clinical research. It includes Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, motor neuron disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Shengdi Chen, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor Chen is the Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. His interests focus on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
Having graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Chen worked at the Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He returned to Ruijin Hospital in 1978, and was appointed as Chief Neurologist and Professor in 1994, followed by Chairman of the Department of Neurology in 1997.
He has published 450 original and review articles (including more than 90 SCI papers) and received 24 awards in the Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease studies as well as 41 grant supports. He also has rich experience in serving as editorial board members and reviewers for various journals across the field.
